Oh how thrilled I am that so many of us can come together in one place and celebrate our creativity. It's a cool thing to be able to check out the talent of so many women out there to turn the ordinary into extraordinary.
Last week we had awesome participation - 58 entries! For a new party and a new-ish blog I am so thrilled to see such a great turnout. I also like having little thumbnails of all of your genius forever on my blog so that I can remember this stuff.
Here were my favorites from last week:
Katie from Creatively Living . . . Outside theBox took the BACK of old and ugly frames and painted them with a cool and trendy pattern - then hung them up in her bathroom as an awesome art piece. Isn't she smart! Love it, girl.
Stephanie from Pinafores and Pinwheels made a FABULOUS dress outfit for her little girl. She took a basic sixties dress pattern and turned it into an adorable coat, then made a fun Peter Pan collar as well as leggings and that hat. You have to see how she did it all, click on her link to do it! I would LOVE to make this kind of thing for my girls. It may be time to learn to sew.
Kelli from More Bang For Your Buck turned a drab vanilla birthday cake int a fab rainbow cake with some inspiration from Pinterest. The top layer was red velvet but the other layers were simply colored with food coloring. My favorite part was how much she involved her little girl in the prep and decorating of this cake. If you click on her link, you will see how thrilled that girl was! Way to go, Kelli!
Marie from G*Rated took a dress that might have been worn only in the summer and paired it with boots, jeans, and a cardigan to create a fab look! Outsmarting our stuff to make it work is how the concept of the Drab to Fab link party was born in my head, so, Marie, thanks for showing us an example of D2F outfit creation! You look great!
Look at these fab Russian Dolls submitted by Repeat Crafter Me. She took basic wooden Russian Dolls from Amazon, then traced faces onto them, then painted the Sesame Street characters. What an awesome way to personalize a toy that was so plain and basic before. Just imagine the possibilities. I would make an entire set of Caillou because it would be easy! (wink wink)
Drab dessert: plain ice cream. Fab dessert: Oreo Goodness Cake from More Precious Than Pearls. I know several people in my house would LOVE this cake. I also happen to know that those same people's birthdays are coming up soon. This cake may soon be gracing our table.
So, now it's time again to show us your great stuff. What did you make fabulous?
Show us:
(1) a great D.I.Y. project in which you transformed something to make it fabulous
or
(2) an outfit you created that turned out fabulous
or
(3) a meal or dish you jazzed up and personalized

Whatever it is, link it up every Friday here at Sugar and Spice. Let's celebrate how we can take what's drab and make it Fab!
Oh, and you can link as many as you like each week. Old or new!

I found the cutest website with magnet necklaces for mom and daughter. I just bought a set for daughter Becky and me to wear on mom’s day! That will be fun. They have these red hearts with plastic ladybugs glued on them. They are held to the necklace with magnets. Loved the designs. Well, happy mother’s day to all the moms. www.britebuttonz.com
