I am over three decades old, have two kids, and I really have no business wearing anything from Hollister.
However, I spotted this lovely frock at my favorite secondhand store, Plato’s Closet, and knew I would and could wear it proudly.
Look at all these colors and the great print. I can pair this with so much. It has lots of visual interest. I like that.
I included this last photo for ya to show you the back of this thing. It’s a short little top. It’s really a decoration for the basic tee or tank I will most likely wear underneath.
Although I will most likely never actually shop in Hollister, I can stomach buying their things secondhand – if I think I can get away with it.
Now, I want to introduce you to “Drab to Fab”
Wednesday, January 4th is the last day you can send me an email with your link to a post where you turned something Drab into Fab, or rather, you made something work that you previously thought wasn’t wearable.
The previously un-wearable can be anything from something that was too loose, too small, not in-season, old, or anything that has not been proudly worn in some time for some reason.
Show us what you did to it to turn it into a great outfit. Did you layer it? Belt it? Scarf it? Add your own buttons or bling even? Whatever you did, show us what you created out of that thing you thought you couldn’t use. Email the link of your post about this to me at sugarandspice1011@gmail.com. Click HERE for my example of DRAB to FAB and more Challenge specifics. Read the text in red specifically.
Because this is the first week of the Challenge, I will be featuring all entries I receive by email! Stay tuned for the Challenge results coming later this week! Oh I'm so excited!

Thanks for the invite, but I won't be able to do anything for it this week.
ReplyDeleteOh it's too bad it can't be next week! I have a post in the hopper for next Monday about how I was avoiding a certain color and decided to add it back.

Love that top--what a score and you are never too old for a shop--it's all about finding pieces that work. I'm vowing not to buy anything less than fabulous to add to my closet. This week my fashion feature was all about breaking out of the skinny jean rut. Check it out here:

Love it!! That was a major success. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such a sweet comment on Ginger's Story! I know she appreciates it and so do I. I hope you have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI am nearing my 30th year, have three kids, and feel a little strange wearing "teeny-bopper" brands too. But it's my theory that if you can make it work and it doesn't LOOK teeny-bopper, then who cares what the tag says.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the pattern and fun colors on your shrug!
i agree with you abbie, I am three decades old and still rock some things from F21 and H&M is my favorite place of all time.
ReplyDeleteAwww, this top is really cute! I think you wear it well. It has lot's of cute detail for sure!
