Finally joining the mustard yellow club!

I know, I am so late to hop on this train.  I have really been looking for a mustard yellow top FOREVER and it’s been really tough to find one.  At least it’s been tough for this non-online shopper (I should really try that more), and rushed trips to Target and every-other-month Plato’s Closet shopping machine.  I haven’t looked as hard as I could have, but I finally came across this little baby @ Plato’s Closet.

Now, I had to do some outsmarting with this, because it IS too small for me to really be wearing, but I paired it with a longer grey tee and a scarf.  The length of the grey tee is obviously so I don’t show my beautiful post-2-babies midriff to the world, and the scarf was to hide the pulling buttons on the chest.  Now, pulling buttons is rarely a problem for me, if you know what I’m saying, but in this case the scarf was needed to hide that.

I also liked using the scarf for the color it added.  This yellow-turquoise combo has been so big lately, and I’ve finally jumped on the bandwagon.

Don’t forget to think about joining me this Friday, for Drab to Fab.

How did you pull off wearing an item that you maybe shouldn’t have worn?  How did you “outsmart” it in order to rock it?  Please join us this Friday and link up your outfit (or five).

Much love, all!
