DRAB TO FAB CHALLENGE

It’s here!

This is the day we see all of YOUR great ways to outsmart your clothing.   That is, accessorize, layer, scarf, belt, or do whatever you need to do to make that thing you didn’t think was wearable into something you sported proudly.

For a refresher, here is the outfit I had posted:

I turned my ill-fitting (too loose) black and white striped shirt into fab by belting it and adding a pop of color and cuteness over the undesirable turtleneck top.  Looks mighty fine now, wouldn’t you say?

Let's see what you other lovely ladies did, shall we?

The lovely Lisa from MOMMA’S ME TIME took two tanks that sat in the back of her closet and layered them together under a cardi and belt to sport them in the colder weather.  She took what she just wasn’t wearing as individual pieces and made them work by layering.  You go Lisa!

Check out how Elyssa from I CREATE BEAUTY took a jacket she wasn’t wearing because it was too short and paired it with a longer blue tunic that she didn’t know what to wear with to create this adorable look.  Find out what she did to resolve the jeans problem by clicking on her link!

Stacy from The Other Pocket is as cute as a button sporting her grandfather’s sweater.  She turned a simple sweater that was not coming off of any runway and paired it with some adorable shoes and a scarf of a complimenting color to create this effortlessly cool look.

The adorable and PREGGO Erin from LOVING AND LIVING LIFE WITH MY BOYS took one of the many pre-pregnancy shirts that become unbecoming as the tummy grows and grows, layered it with a pop of red underneath, and layered it underneath a great sweater and scarf.  She looks great, right?

Many of you already know Marissa from RAE GUN RAMBLINGS.  She took a hello kitty top she made for herself years ago and finally figured out a way to wear it.  Didn’t quite look right by itself, but once she put a great belted black sweater over top and added red flats, she was able to rock it!

Elisabeth from I’MA WALKING FASHION CRIME is a rebel.  She’s wearing was she “shouldn’t” by mixing prints together to create this Fab look.  Who says you can’t layer a great striped sweater over top of a plaid button down and then glam the whole thing up with a string of pearls?  You go girl!
The lovely Jennifer from GIRL DEFYING GRAVITY embodies Drab to Fab perfectly.  That greay sweater she is sporting was sitting in the back of the closet for over 4 years until she layered it with a great long tee, rolled up the sleeves to a flattering length, and added the scarf.  Way to rock that sweater, Jenn!
The dear Katie from FOR LAUREN AND LAUREN thinks just like I do.  We did almost the exact same thing by adding a thick black belt and a red scarf to our tops.  Katie had owned this tunic for two years and never worn it because it was too boxy and boring.  She accessorized to turn drab into Fab.  You look great, Katie!
This has been so fun!  Should we do it again?  I'm thinking next Friday, same time, same place I will host a linky party for all of us to show how we outsmarted our clothes to make them (and us) look awesome.  Follow me here so you don't forget about it, and keep in mind as you create your outfits and photos over this next week if you might have one you could submit to "Drab to Fab".  Let your fashiony friends know about it too.  Let's keep turning Drab into Fab and giving each other ideas!
