Why I never want to forget this day

This captures what at least a portion of my day has looked like for the last four months.

The playground may as well be our second home.  It is the place that is requested on a daily basis.  The place that cause the adrenaline rush to come over my girlies the moment we arrive.  The place of fun and freedom.
First we have precious, adorable little Em on the swing or "shiiiiiing!" as she calls excitedly from her car seat when we pull up to a playground.  This is the only aspect of the park that she is really able to enjoy at this pre-walking stage, so she always is thrilled to go for a swing ride.  My favorite is how her eyes light up as she moves back with that first push.

Big sister Grace is being pushed by Papa, no doubt thinking about the next thing she will try at the park today once she gets down from the swing.  Or she is thinking about asking mom for an "underdog".  Grace loves to conquer new aspects of the playground each time.  Always very cautious and deliberate, she does not attempt anything she is not ready for until she knows she is brave enough, physically capable, and just plain wants to do it.  When that moment comes she will climb a tall ladder or go down the steep slide as though she's been doing it all along.
Papa is experiencing a high point in his day.  Aside from maybe eating a good meal at Red Robin or one I make at home, this is just about as good as it gets for him.  Sure, Chicago doesn't have all that Arizona had (food, scenery, people, etc.) but it does have his two great granddaughters, and the time that he is here with them - watching them grow and learn and teaching them a bunch himself - it is like gold.

These are the moments he lives for.

These are the moments the girls live for.

These are the moments I live for.
