I just love my slow cooker. You will hear that reiterated over and over as I post recipes.
Start with a standard package of ribs from the grocery store.
Next, grab your seasonings:
I end up using about 2 T of minced garlic, about 3-4 T of preserves (here I used strawberry because I didn't have Cherry as the recipe called for - sounds funny but it tastes great!), 2 T of course dijon, 1 t of kosher salt, and 1 t of pepper.
You will basically put your ribs into the slow cooker and put all the seasonings over top like this:
This photo is not showing garlic and preserves.
Spread everything all over the ribs, then cram the ribs into the slow cooker like this:
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hrs. I cooked mine for 7.
Of course I'm a rock star and neglected to take a photo of the finished product, (way to go there Champ!) as you might guess it looked something like this.
**I served mine with BBQ sauce smothered over the top instead of the "sauce" created from the cooking process in the slow cooker as the original recipe says.** (Updated from original post)
I served it with roasted potatoes and broccoli.
I know when a recipe is good because I've got an 85 year old kid (in addition to the girlies) who is picky because he was a butcher for 10 years and seemingly at only the most tasty meat you've ever tried and the freshest fruits and vegetables from the trees in the local fields which he and his brother stole during the depression.
(You will hear more about my 85 year old kid later!)
If he gobbles it up and asks for more, I know it's a good recipe.
Enjoy!

Hey Amy thanks for this! I just threw it in the crockpot after returning home from the grocery store. So excited :)
ReplyDeleteAnd another Champ move - I also forgot to mention that I served the ribs with Famous Daves BBQ sauce smothered over top instead of the "sauce" made in the slow cooker, which isn't much to speak of.
